White Mustard Seed as a Green Manure Crop
Foxcote Farm’s objective is to help improve his soil fertility and health after many years of continuous cereal crops.
After a fallow period, a crop of Green Manure (White Mustard) is being precision drilled and then rolled to get this fast growing crop established after a long dry period.
It will produce a high volume of bio mass to plough in as organic matter in the early spring.
Mustard Success
This is a great example of Foxcote’s consideration towards Regenerative farming. The mustard seed was fed back into the soil and now the Winter Wheat is established and starting to show healthy growth.
