So you thought the Italians made the best Ice-Cream? It’s time to think again…
Award-winning Downsview Farm are one of our customers, based on the outskirts of Lewes, Sussex. Downsview farm over 100 Friesian dairy cows to produce their highly successful Downsview Farmhouse brand of luxury dairy ice cream and popular creams and milks. They claim their secret is the happiness of their herd.
You may have seen the herd and ice cream making as part of the BBC series The Apprentice when contestants visited the farm to make their own.
Downsview are continually looking to increase their grass forage production, the pictures below show the outstanding yield of grass being cut for early 2022 silage from an Autumn 2021 re-seed of St Catherine’s Seeds Italian Ryegrass blend of Fox & Kigezi.
